PT KCC Glass Indonesia and PT Wavin Manufacturing Indonesia Inaugurate Factories at KITB

Batang, October 3, 2024 – PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB) proudly announces the inauguration of two factories from South Korean and Dutch tenants, PT KCC Glass Indonesia and PT Wavin Manufacturing Indonesia. This inauguration marks a strategic step in strengthening the industrial ecosystem at KITB while reaffirming KITB's commitment to promoting sustainable investment in Indonesia.

PT KCC Glass Indonesia operates on a 46-hectare site with a total investment of IDR 4 trillion, and future development plans for an additional IDR 8 trillion investment. KCC Glass produces high-quality glass, with 20% aimed at meeting domestic demand and 80% for global markets. The plant is projected to employ 450 people, significantly contributing to local job creation. KCC Glass’s largest factory worldwide is located at KITB and is expected to employ 2,000 workers.

Meanwhile, PT Wavin Manufacturing Indonesia has established a 20-hectare plant focused on producing environmentally friendly PVC pipes, with the potential to employ 170 workers. With the presence of these two factories, KITB further solidifies its position as an eco-friendly and sustainable industrial hub in Indonesia.

According to Chung Mong-ik, Chairman of KCC Glass, “We are very proud to be part of KITB, which provides easy access and world-class infrastructure. This investment will support the growth of the glass industry and strengthen ties between Indonesia and South Korea.”

South Korea’s Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Park Soodeok, added, “This inauguration signifies the growing collaboration between the two countries in the industrial sector. We hope this trade and investment relationship continues to grow in the future.”

CEO of Orbia, Mr. Sameer Bharadwaj, the parent company of PT Wavin Manufacturing Indonesia, also commented, “This factory will produce PVC pipes that support sustainable infrastructure development. We are committed to bringing cutting-edge technology and innovation that contributes to a greener future.”

Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister of Investment/BKPM, who attended the inauguration, stated, “The presence of PT KCC Glass and PT Wavin Manufacturing at KITB is concrete evidence of the increasing confidence of global investors in Indonesia's potential. We will continue to support a conducive investment climate to attract more major companies to invest in our country.”

Yadi Jaya Ruchandi, President Director of PT Danareksa (Persero), also praised KITB’s commitment to meeting tenant needs. “With complete infrastructure, facilities, and connectivity, KITB is an industrial estate that fully supports investors' needs. We at Danareksa BUMN Holding fully support the government’s efforts to boost Indonesia's export products, such as KCC Glass and Wavin’s factories, which will export their products globally,” he said.

Ngurah Wirawan, President Director of PT KITB, closed the inauguration by emphasizing the importance of sustainability. “We not only provide space for industry but also create an ecosystem that is green, smart, and sustainable. This is what makes KITB the industrial estate of the future. Currently, there are 21 tenants at KITB with an investment value of approximately IDR 16 trillion.”

In addition to the inauguration of these two factories, the construction of the Rusunawa (workers' housing) project at KITB is also progressing as part of the commitment to support the growing workforce. This project is a result of strong collaboration between PT KITB, PT Danareksa Capital, and PT Nindya Beton, with full support from the parent company, PT Danareksa (Persero). PT Nindya Beton, as the implementing contractor, utilizes modern Modform construction technology combined with Building Information Modelling (BIM). BIM technology allows real-time project monitoring, providing advantages in identifying discrepancies between design and implementation, and improving construction efficiency.

This inauguration is a significant milestone for KITB in attracting more global investors and strengthening Indonesia’s position as a premier investment destination in Southeast Asia.
