PT Samator Indo Gas Inaugurates Its Largest Facility at Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang Local Gas Company Set to Expand National and Global Reach

Batang, September 30, 2024 – PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB) has once again cemented its position as a hub for strategic industrial growth in Indonesia by inaugurating the newest plant of PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk (Samator). Standing on a 28,010 m² area, this facility is the largest among Samator’s plants across Indonesia and plays a crucial role in advancing the national gas industry.

Rachmad Harsono, President Director of Samator, expressed his gratitude to KITB for its continuous support. "We are proud to grow alongside KITB. This facility is not only the largest among our plants but also equipped with renewable energy technology, such as solar panels, to support more environmentally friendly operations," Rachmad explained. He added that Samator is committed to supplying industrial gas to all tenants at KITB as well as to regions in Central and East Java.

The Acting Governor of Central Java, Nana Sudjana, also attended the event and emphasized the importance of synergy between industry and government in driving regional economic growth. "This plant is a concrete example of how industrial estates like KITB can play a significant role in strengthening local industry while providing positive economic impacts for the region," said Nana.

Ngurah Wirawan, President Director of KITB, expressed his pride in the partnership with Samator. "We are always committed to providing the best infrastructure to support the growth of our tenants. With the presence of this modern Samator plant, we are even more confident that KITB can become a green, smart, and sustainable industrial estate," he stated.

Through an investment of IDR 500 billion, the company, established in 1975, brings the cutting-edge Air Separation Units (ASU) 7000 technology to optimize the production process at KITB. With the capacity to produce 7,000 Liquid Oxygen (LOX), 7,000 Liquid Nitrogen (LIN), and 280 Liquid Argon (LAR), Samator’s 56th plant is the largest in Indonesia, capable of meeting massive oxygen demands for industries.

Equipped with two turbine expanders (one as a backup) and a Safety Instrumented System (SIS) to regulate the safety of flow, temperature, and pressure—particularly concerning oxygen products and O2 storage tanks—this plant ensures optimal operational safety. In addition, the use of a Cross Flow Induced Draft Cooling Tower with low drip and evaporation loss, along with the utilization of environmentally friendly solar energy, further underscores Samator’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability.

The establishment of Samator's plant at KITB reinforces the area's position as a strategic industrial center in Indonesia, while also strengthening the role of local industry in addressing global challenges.
