Grand Batang City Provides Mandarin Language Training to Enhance Local Community Competitiveness in the Global Era
Batang, July 4, 2024 – PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB) or Grand Batang City is committed to strengthening the competitiveness of the local community in the era of globalization by providing free Mandarin language training. This program was attended by 130 participants consisting of residents from 4 surrounding villages and several KITB tenant employees.
The training, which took place from June 6 to July 4, 2024, featured expert teachers in their field. Participants were taught basic Mandarin language materials, such as intonation reading, numbers, letters, and Taiwanese culture, including how to say "thank you" ("xie xie") with different hand positions for men and women.
M. Fakhrur Rozi, Director of Institutions and Public Relations of KITB, said that this training is one form of Grand Batang City's commitment to empowering local communities and improving the quality of human resources around the industrial estate. "Mandarin is one of the important languages in today's global era. We hope that with this training, participants can improve their Mandarin language skills and get better job opportunities at KITB tenants," said Rozi.
M. Burhan Murtaki, General Manager of Corporate Secretary KITB, said that all these initiatives are one parameter that the Grand Batang Integrated Industrial Estate is not only a successful national strategic project in accelerating investment to drive economic growth and create jobs, but also a very valuable partner in building a sustainable and harmonious community.
One of the training participants, Inalia, was very happy and grateful for the opportunity provided by Grand Batang City. "I am very grateful to KITB for this Mandarin language training. This training is very beneficial for me and I am sure it will help me in finding a job in the future and working at one of KITB's tenants," said Inalia.
At the end of the training, participants received certificates as proof that they had completed the Mandarin language training. This training is the first step of many skill development programs planned by KITB to empower the surrounding community. Grand Batang City hopes that this training can continue and reach more local people around the industrial estate.
